The Diversion Control Division of the Drug Enforcement Administration hosted a seminar about the Combat Methamphetamine Epidemic Act (CMEA) on December 4, 2025. This training offered DEA-registered Pharmacies, Controlled Substances Manufacturers, List I Chemical Distributors, and List I Chemical Manufacturers the opportunity to receive a review of CMEA registration and recordkeeping requirements.
This Act primarily affects people selling products containing the List I chemicals ephedrine, pseudoephedrine and phenylpropanolamine.
The speaker, Staff Coordinator Jennifer Reed, provided information regarding the following:
- A review of the Combat Methamphetamine Epidemic Act
- A review of registration requirements to include training and self-certification
- A review of recordkeeping requirements to include maintaining a logbook, displaying warning notices, reporting suspicious orders, and reporting thefts and losses
- A review of common inspection findings
